Curtis claims he was Director of Operations, and therefore able to watch all the transitions and how Turner Motorsport was disassembled and deconstructed into an unrecognizable iteration of its former self.Ĭurtis disagreed with upper management's treatment of lower-level employees and business decisions, exposing several of ECS' inner business practices on social media.
Curtis began working at Turner in 2007, which was experiencing modest but steady upward growth at the time.Ĭurtis went on to detail specifics that essentially mentioned how ECS took the successful Turner experience and ran it into the ground via several successive bad decisions in the name of profit. The post details Curtis helped build up Turner Motorsport prior to ECS' acquisition, and how ECS made a lot of hopeful, tempting, and exciting promises to Turner, which Curtis claims were exaggerated, deceptive, and false. Daniel Curtis, a former business partner of Will Turner, published a long Facebook post detailing several interactions with the company where he felt their service fell short, was dishonest, or was just nonresponsive. Also, a lot of their ECS Tuning performance parts became created in-house by said team, who designed, tested, and developed those parts before their arrival on the market.ĭuring summer 2018, the company was accused of several shady practices in multiple incidents.
This initiative started back in 1995, when their Audi S4 Big Brake Kit became viral among the first generation of Audi forums that drivers consulted.Īt that point, the company decided to capitalize on the popularity by boosting their Research & Development department from a few people working on Audi to a whole team of people working on many foreign cars. They also offer service kits and performance parts for all of the foreign cars at all of their brands. ECS also owns a few brands, namely ECS Tuning, Ziza, Alzor, Bremmen, and Schwaben. They started out as a family-operated service shop before growing into their current global e-commerce platform. They have approximately 1.4 million parts available for these brands, and these parts are performance and aftermarket parts, as well as first-run, authentic parts. They have parts available for a lot of cars, including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Porsche, Audi, and Volkswagen, and they're based out of Wadsworth, Ohio. 0 work life balance too.ECS Tuning is a company that specializations in supplying obscure automotive parts for foreign cars. It was 8 months of my life completely wasted. The pay was industry standard but no where near enough for the shoddy, half baked systems you had to work with to get your job done. Turn over was high, people came and went every month, which inevitably leads to management pressing us to work overtime because they do not have enough people. head 2x the entire 8 months I worked there. Management was extremely poor, with me only seeing the dept. All was not fine, I wasted 8 months learning a job I hated and will never do again. However they assured me all would be fine. I even expressed my concern several times to the people hiring me, including the department supervisor. A complete waste of time and a clear red flag, but I took another job (that I had to "reapply" for) that I had 0 experience in, and frankly, no interest in. I should have left when I came in for the interview and the "supervisor" of that department decided they no longer "needed" anyone. I originally applied for a different job. This will sound corny, but if I could whistle, I'd whistle on my way to work every day. eCommerce is fast paced and there's no shortage of opportunities to make an impact. The hardest part of my job is simply keeping on top of everything. When something is going wrong, everyone knows about it, and the team digs in to solve it without pointing fingers. When something goes right, people get praised and recognized. It's very transparent with lots of communication. The culture has changed 180 degrees in my time here. The executives are "normal people" who dig in and work hard with the team.
The CEO is excellent and takes the time to get to know people.
They care about the team and are constantly helping coach you on how to improve. Management is very strong (some of the best leaders and people I've ever worked with).
Because it's an eCommerce based business, there's always SOMETHING new going on - you will never be bored working here. It's amazing to see the evolution of the business since I started.
